Course objectives:
This course introduces knowledge about coal, petroleum, and some important gases as fuels, their origin, classification, exploration, processing, and characterization in terms of physicochemical properties. Emphasis will be given to the combustion of fuels in the light of thermodynamics and various combustion appliances with mathematical problems and solutions. This course is useful for students and researchers from an industrial point of view to some extent.
Requirements on student
Requirements for succesful passing the exam: written test as well as oral examination. Students should understand basic concepts related to fuels and their physicochemical properties and characterizations. Student should be able to perform calculations related to fuels and combustion.
