Course objectives:
The course is drawn up as theoretical and practical unit of lectures for all medical fields of study and medical practice focused on the specific field of study. Students get familiar with the various types of medical records and their register beginning with the patient's admission /hospital's client, followed by the stay in hospital and the completion of diagnostics and therapeutics treatment, and subsequently patient's release into the home or other care if needed. Objectives: Students get familiar with the register of medical records in their electronic form. Students enhance their knowledge of the electronic documents processing in general, advanced functions of word editor, table processor and other software suitable for professional and administrative activities that use the information technology.
Requirements on student
Credit is taken upon a practical examination, the exam will test the student's ability to use information technology resource in practise.
Content
Students can start practical lessons as long as they attend lectures (8 lessons) KVM / ISZDR: Documentation in Healthcare Types of medical documents: medical record, nursing records (nursing history, transmission of information, pain assessment, nutritional questionnaire, balance card, positioning record, transport record, etc), reports of hospitalization, informed consent for diagnostics and therapeutics treatment), release record, dead inspection record. Principles for handling of medical records (date, signature, stamp, misuse protection, medical records archivation). Hospital information system, basic description of HIS, the principle and characteristics of communication with the user - data security rules, description of each module, the hardware requirements, extension of the system. Exercise (20 hours) Lessons are is divided into 10 two-hour blocks of training in a specialized classroom: 1st lesson Introductory lesson- general use of information technology, test of the knowledge level ,clarification of the required knowledge, recommendation for further training under the professional Education 1st - 9 lesson Work and tasks of HIS, focusing on the specifications of individual health professions. General knowledge for all disciplines: - Central Records - Reporting to the health insurance institutions - Work with patient´s documentation - hospital stay and ambulance Focus on field's specification -Image methods workplace - Laboratory Information System - Planning of physiotherapy treatment - Maternity and neonatology clinic - Specific work on ARO, ICU - Inpatient department Study materials: Guide to the general properties of HIS - available to all students in electronic form. Detailed documentation is composed for each task(manual, user's role), available at workstations in the classroom.

Knowledge - knowledge resulting from the course: After completing the practical part of the course, the student has knowledge of common user work with the PC, working independently with software applications especially in the field of office applications. He / she has a more advanced work with text and table processor, knows the principles and technical solution of electronic and printed presentation of professional texts, knows the principles of using electronic information resources, can work with tools for quoting sources. In general, it gains more information literacy, which will be used in the preparation of seminar papers and bachelot thesis. Student knows what it is and what are the basic components of the hospital information system, controls the basic work with the hospital information system, is able to orientate in the system, eg can introduce into the new patient system, order, enter the results of the examination - can work with electronic documentation in the scope of the relevant medical profession.
