Course objectives:
Students will get acquainted with the methodology and general principles for the elaboration of bachelor's theses, the methodology of the bachelor work process, the administrative tasks related to the assignment and submission of the work, the obligatory parts of the work, the information system for registration of the VŠKP, the elaboration of abstracts. There are presented valid norms for writing text (CSN 01 6910) and for quoting the ČSN ISO 690 (01 0197). The content of the subject furthermore guides the students in the basic rules of work with professional literature, the way of selection and processing of data contained in professional publications and the use of electronic information sources. The student will get acquainted with the basic concepts of research methodology. An integral part is the introduction of the correct technical solution of the thesis and its presentation at the SZZK - preparation of a lecture paper (with an emphasis on didactic principles of clarity).

Requirements on student
The course is finished by credit. Teaching is realized with the support of e-learning, the focus of the student's work lies in their individual activities, attendance at the seminars is obligatory.
Students already have a bachelor thesis topic at the beginning of the course, or choose a topic from the offer. All tasks are focused on a specific topic of work. To obtain a credit, the student must complete all the correspondences. tasks in the e-course processing of the thesis basis, project work, basic research, extended search using specialized databases of electronic information sources, elaborated basic structure and syllabus of work together with a preliminary list of citations of used information sources registered according to the citation standard.

Content
Block 1 - 3 hours
Bachelor thesis - its specifics, objectives, form of processing, administrative tasks connected with the assignment of bachelor thesis. Information system for awarding and submitting the thesis, preparation of the substrate for the assignment, preparation of the project., Basic research on the topic, keywords.
Block 2 - 3 hours
Electronic information sources available in the Ostrava network according to the current offer. Search methods, keyword work, search results evaluation, export, saving. PC classroom. (external lecturer, University Library).
Block 3 - 4 hours
Elaboration of electronic text, standard ČSN ISO 01 6910, Bibliographic citations - ISO 690, other related standards: ČSN ISO 2145, ČSN ISO 215, ČSN ISO 7144, ČSN ISO 214, ČSN 01 0194. Text and spreadsheet - advanced utilization, creation lists, cross-references. Principles of creation of electronic presentations, preparation of a lecture accompanied by an electronic presentation.Administration of the surrender of VŠKP.
Block 4 - 4 hours
Methodology of scientific research - basic concepts, quantitative and qualitative research, hypotheses, research methods, experiment. Subject specifics of VŠKP topics.

Prerequisites

Competences - students are expected to possess the following competences before the course commences to finish it successfully:
The student is oriented in the LMS Moodle environment. Basic knowledge of PC work, especially with office applications - electronic text processing, spreadsheet, program for electronic presentation.

- they know the principles of the bachelor thesis, they have an idea of their specific work, their content and their structure
- know the principles of elaboration of the expert text, the specifics of the university qualification work, apply them in their field
- they know the principles of correct citation of used resources, including electronic resources
- they are acquainted with the basic concepts of research methodology
