Course objectives:
Trauma Surgery is a medical speciality dealing with the diagnostics and treatment of injuries, including prevention and management of post-injury conditions. The study subject includes the basic principles and approaches in trauma surgery, together with general principles of research activities in dealing with the topic of trauma care. Great emphasis is placed on multidisciplinary cooperation, multidisciplinary approach and development of common research activities

Treatment of fractures in geriatric patients
The use of 3D navigation in trauma surgery
Monitoring of the injured during large-scale incidents
Compartment syndromes - diagnostics and treatment
The influence of a controlled load on fracture healing
Treatment strategies in patients with pelvic fractures
Treatment strategies in patients with thoracic trauma


Requirements on student
Self study of recommended literature and examination. The erudition in this speciality takes at least three years, the students will actively participate upon surgical procedures pertaining to the given topic, and will be required to take part in educational events related to this study subject.
