Course objectives:
|
The course follows the teaching of "General Didactics". It focuses on issues and problems related to the curriculum. The course gives students an opportunity to understand how multiform phenomenon such curriculum in practice, to become familiar with various theories of curriculum and core curricula, their form and function. On this basis, the students is to acquire the skills to participate in creating their own curriculum for the school.

Knowledge test in the scope of the course curriculum. Seminar paper on the selected problem that will be assigned at the beginning of the course.

Content
|
1. The definition of the term "curriculum". Forms of existence of curriculum; designed, implemented and attained curriculum (IEA model). The relationship to the terms of the education and curriculum. Formal, informal and hidden curriculum. 2. Curriculum theory. (Philosophical theory, empirical and practical guidelines. Intermediary and helpful model curriculum). 3. Curriculum designed in documents of educational policy and educational practice. (National Curriculum's educational standards and educational programs. Traditional documents - lesson plans and curriculum). 4. Trends in curriculum development in European countries, the time and content of education. 5. Curriculum development - the basic procedures and models (project subjects, core curriculum project, project activities, content and operational aspects of the curriculum, curriculum design concept Tyler). The role of general education programs and new educational programs. 6. Textbooks as a "potentially implemented curriculum, its functions, structure. Properties of "good" books. Selection of textbooks as a teaching activity. The criteria for selection.
