Course objectives:

Study materials (supplementary study materials, extension study materials, links to study materials, assignments for seminar papers, assignments for correspondence assignments, etc.) can be found continuously in the course created for the respective semester of the course in MS Teams. You will also submit the deliverables (term papers, correspondence assignments, etc.) in this environment. Communication between the instructor and students will be via email (use student email only) and via chat in MS Teams; any consultations or online meetings will take place in the MS Teams environment, in a team with a name that copies the course name and the semester.
The course provides students with a basic knowledge of the structure of the educational system in the Czech Republic. Students get to know the current curriculum documents and materials, they will have an opportunity to see them from the historical point of view and to compare them with documents relevant in their countries. The work of worldwide famous Czech scholar Comenius will be discussed as well.

Requirements on student
|
Students participate in discussion about similarities and differences between Czech educational system and educational systems of their countries. They write a comparative essay about educational system in their country. This written text is supposed to cover 5 - 8 pages.

Universities in the CR. 3. Teachers and teachers' education. 4. Curriculum in compulsory education. Curriculum documents. Current reform and discussions. 5. Curriculum materials: textbook selection, approval and use. 6. The most famous Czech scholar and educator: Comenius and his system of education.

The course aims to develop students' ability to compare educational systems of different countries. Student will be orientated in the organisation and structure of the Czech educational system and will be able to compare it with the system of his country. |
