Course objectives:
|
The subject is drawn up as theoretical/practical unit for midwives. It is the part of the complex of subjects related to clinical nursing. Students get familiar with acute and chronic clinical states where surgery is needed.
Students obtain a knowlegde of basic assessment of acute clinical state in surgery, get familiar with basic standard surgical diagnostics procedures and tests, with a standard therapy and doctor's consulation rooms of the individual clinical states. Students learn how to provide care in patients with surgical conditions using the method of nursing process. They obtain a knowledge of basic surgical interventions, know the basic pre-op and post-op care and types of therapies.

Lessons: 1. Practical training following the standard care plan 2. Pre-op and post-op care of the client/patient 3. Nursing process of the client with the fracture 4. Nursing process of the client with the urinary system condition 5. Nursing process of the client with liver, gall bladder and biliary system conditions 6. Nursing process of the client with intestine conditions 7. Nursing process of the client with oesophagus and stomach conditions 8. Nursing process of the client with chest conditions 9. Nurisng process of the client with the acute abdominal state 10. Nursing process of the client with pancreas, spleen conditions
