Course objectives:

The course is designed for students needed to improve their scientific writing skills. We will go through the process of preparing and submitting research papers and review articles.

The course will be successfully finished if all the following conditions are met:
- written test or presentation of own scientific work in English

Content

Week 1: Introduction. What is scientific English? The research and publication: planning & preparation. Why papers get rejected? Google translate. Week 2: Readability. Short and long sentences. Word order. Structuring paragraphs & sentences. Week 3: Abstracts. Week 4: Being concise & removing redundancy. Highlighting your findings. Week 5: Titles. Week 6: Introductions and literature reviews. Paraphrasing & plagiarism. Week 7: Methods and Results. Week 8: Ambiguity. Week 9: Discussion. Week 10: Discussion & conclusion. Week 11: Presentation at the meetings and conferences. Week 12 and 13: One-on-one discussion, final test.
